Nail Trimming & Filing

Many dogs need regular nail trimming because their nails don’t naturally wear down when walking, or maybe the dog has a reduced amount of exercise due to a health issue.

It is very important to keep your dogs nails trimmed because, as well as long nails being unsightly and making a dreadful sound on hard floors, long nails can also lead to pain in the dog’s foot and put pressure on joints in the feet and legs. If left long enough, eventually, they can grow into the dog’s soft pad leading to deformation of the foot. Long nails are also more susceptible to getting caught and snagging, which causes pain and discomfort.

Freshly trimmed nails can leave blunt and sharp edge on the nail, which can then cause scratches to human companions. So why not ask about adding on our nail filling service which helps get the nails even shorter than a basic trim, and leaves a smooth finish. No more post nail trim scratches!

Nail trimming is included in our Full Groom, De-shed and Puppy Introduction services, or it can be booked as a stand-alone appointment.
